ShapeIQ

What is ShapeIQ

ShapeIQ is a behavioral safety intelligence venture built to replace compliance-era safety with measurable, predictive insight. Using the SHAPE framework: Safety, Health, Attitude, Proactivity, and Environment, we quantify the behaviors that drive incidents before they happen. Insurers, primes, and regulators are increasingly requiring proof of proactive safety culture, yet existing BBS programs are outdated, punitive, and not data-driven. ShapeIQ gives high-risk industries a scalable way to benchmark, coach, and certify behavioral readiness, creating the first true “credit score” for safe work and positioning SHAPE to become the industry standard.

Who We Are

ShapeIQ is the innovation arm of Rig Wranglers, LLC — a firm with more than three decades of frontline HSE leadership, incident prevention, and system-level safety design across oil & gas, construction, sports & entertainment, logistics, and high-risk industries. Our work has served Fortune 500 operators, public sector entities, and high-performance teams that cannot afford preventable failure. The credibility behind ShapeIQ is built on real-world execution, not theory, informed by tens of thousands of workers trained, audited, and coached under conditions where safety isn’t academic, it’s survival.

What We Built: SHAPE

SHAPE is our next-generation Behavioral Safety framework designed to replace outdated compliance-only programs with a modern, measurable, human-centered approach. SHAPE evaluates and develops five critical dimensions of performance — Safety, Health, Attitude, Proactivity, and Environment — producing a clear behavioral intelligence profile that organizations can track, coach, and improve. SHAPE is not a manual, it is a system: curriculum, measurement, workforce engagement, and leadership alignment working together to reduce incidents before they occur.

Our Commitment

We believe safety is not luck, not paperwork, and not slogans; it is behavior practiced with intent and reinforced by culture. ShapeIQ exists to move organizations beyond reactive fixes and toward pre-incident leadership. We are committed to evidence-based methods, transparent metrics, and solutions that are usable on the ground, not just in boardrooms. When you deploy SHAPE, you are not buying training, you are adopting a standard built to protect people, preserve production, and elevate the way high-risk work is done.

The ShapeIQ Solution

Turning Human Behavior Into Measurable, Coachable Intelligence

ShapeIQ solves the gap between compliance and real prevention by converting human behavior into measurable, coachable intelligence. Instead of waiting for injuries and then investigating what went wrong, ShapeIQ makes leading indicators visible before failure. The SHAPE framework evaluates the five drivers of safe performance: Safety, Health, Attitude, Proactivity, and Environment, through structured field observations, workforce input, cultural signal analysis, and leadership alignment. These inputs generate a behavioral readiness index that organizations can benchmark over time, compare across teams or contractors, and integrate into training, hiring, incentives, and leadership decision-making.

What makes ShapeIQ different from legacy Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) programs is not just packaging, it is architecture. Existing BBS systems are primarily punitive, subjective, clipboard-based, and unable to scale or produce defensible data. ShapeIQ is framed as a replicable standard, not a one-off program, and it is built to answer the explicit questions now coming from insurers, primes, and regulators: “Can you prove proactive culture, not just produce paperwork after injury?”

Customers benefit in three critical ways: (1) Incident prevention rather than incident response, reducing cost, liability, and downtime; (2) Data that leaders can use, not slogans; a score that objectively reflects behavioral readiness and reveals where to intervene; and (3) A scalable, repeatable system, not a consultant-dependent audit, allowing organizations to deploy SHAPE across sites and contractors consistently.

In short, ShapeIQ delivers what the market is beginning to demand and what current tools cannot: a standardized, data-driven way to measure, compare, and improve the human side of safety before the cost is paid in injury, litigation, or lost contracts.

The Problem We’re Solving

Safety is still reactive, outdated, and blind to behavior, costing U.S. employers $171B each year.

Across energy, construction, logistics, and other high-risk sectors, most safety programs are still built on 20th-century compliance models: checklists, posters, tailgate talks, and reactive investigations after injuries occur. These systems track paperwork, not behavior, and they fail to capture the real precursors of incidents: human factors, cultural signals, and environment-driven decision-making. The result is a persistent and expensive gap. U.S. employers lose an estimated $171B annually to preventable workplace injuries (NSC, 2023) while still operating on systems that cannot detect or coach behavior before failure.

There is a market-level shift underway: insurers, primes, and regulators are increasingly demanding proactive behavioral intelligence and proof of safety culture, not just lagging indicators. Yet there is no widely adopted, standardized, measurable behavioral safety index that organizations can implement, track, and use to make leadership, hiring, or training decisions. Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) programs exist, but they are outdated, punitive, non-data-driven, and unscalable across locations or contractors.

The opportunity is to replace static compliance with behavioral intelligence; a system that measures and develops the five drivers of safe performance: Safety, Health, Attitude, Proactivity, and Environment (SHAPE). This unlocks a high-value data layer currently missing from safety, risk, and workforce performance management and positions organizations to cut incidents before they escalate to cost, injury, or litigation.

The market is large and immediate: U.S. construction, energy, and logistics represent over 18 million workers and $9T GDP contribution, all subject to insurance, regulatory, and contractual pressure to demonstrate proactive safety performance. A product that can quantify and standardize behavioral readiness has room to become the default benchmark, the “credit score” for safe work, across an industry that must modernize or pay the cost.
